The Core Team for Soul Purpose welcomes you to our little corner of the Web! A lot of thought went into what we would like to see in a community group for singles in their late 20’s and 30’s. Below is this vision on which Soul Purpose was founded so you can know what we hope to all experience as a committed group of believers in Christ in Soul Purpose:
Our Soul Purpose Mission/Description statement:
“To be a community for single adults in their late 20’s and 30’s committed to the purpose of helping each other think and live biblically. We will meet Sundays at 11:00am to study God’s word in light of the unique questions and concerns single adults have. Our community group will utilize large and small group gatherings, social activities, community outreach projects, and global mission initiatives to challenge and equip its members for the life God is calling them to.”
To give a better idea of how we would like to approach fulfilling this mission, here are a few important areas in which we would like to invest in each other so that we grow both individually and as a community in Christ:
Vision/Distinctives/Values
Our vision is for a community group of individuals who pursue the above mission by holding each other accountable to the following values:
- Relational Integrity -striving at all times to grow in our ability to relate to one another according to the principles of Scripture
- Mutual ministry -striving at all times to help every member of the group identify, develop, and employ their gifts in the avenues of service, both inside and outside our church, to which God has called them
- Shared responsibility – striving at all times to keep the responsibility for accomplishing our mission shared by the widest core possible of committed members
- Single vision – striving at all times to help our members view, value, and utilize singleness for the unique purposes with which God has endowed it
- Gender literacy – striving at all times to provide for our members a safe and welcoming place for single men and women to learn how to serve one another as brothers and sisters in Christ
A strong commitment to Christ and a desire to live out in community the things put forward above will ideally be the framework on which the Soul Purpose group will function and thrive.
We will have more info in the near future on upcoming Sunday morning teaching series, small group and book study-type options, and other opportunities to in which we can all connect as members of Soul Purpose, so please check website often and our Soul Purpose group page on Facebook.com. To borrow from our Senior Pastor Rick Dunn, we look forward to getting to know and grow with each other “on the journey”.
Blessings,
The Soul Purpose Core Team
